Lumber Climber

A 2D competitive PvP climbing game using alternative controllers where two players race to climb as high as possible within constraints. The core gameplay loop revolves around a chop → insert → climb cycle, and players must strategically manage their limited actions.

Alt Ctrl

This is a project purely experimental. It can only be played with customed made controllers(by me, of course)

Makey Makey

Entire project relies on using Makey-Makey. Connecting sensors on my alt controllers and feed them as inputs to the game.

Problem Solving

Designing  the core actions for this game was a serious challenge, especially because I'm working with alternative controllers instead of traditional inputs. I had to sit and think over what kind of physical input would feel responsive, intuitive, and fun to translate into gameplay. I experimented with different sources of input and messed around with different ideas about interaction before settling on chopping, inserting, and climbing. These three movements became a clean and logical loop that fit within the physical limitations of the hardware while also offering a competitive speed. Choosing them wasn't so much about what was mechanically functional—it was about what felt natural for players using something non-standard to play the game.
